Here in Canada, Thanksgiving really kicks off the fall season. What says “happy fall” more than eating copious amounts of spiced treats and comfort food with friends and family? Sometimes, however, it can be a little hard to get into that festive spirit because this also tends to be a busy time of year, especially for students.
Essential oils can be a great tool to help you get into the mood and keep the festivities rolling all day long. Here are a few oils and blends that we recommend this Thanksgiving!
First, start your day off with a little perfume. Dab a little bit of citrus bliss and a little bit of cinnamon (the ratio can be mixed and matched to your liking) into some fractionated coconut oil and then onto your wrists and/or neck. Both of these oils have energizing and de-stressing properties to get your day going and to help you to forget about anything that might be consuming your energy.
If you prefer, you can also use these oils on an aromatherapy bracelet in earthy, fall colours such as this one.
If you’re hosting dinner this year, you’ll want your guests to be welcomed into your home by a refreshing yet occasion-appropriate scent… and if you’re not hosting, what better way to prepare yourself for turkey time than to breathe in a yummy autumn aroma? We recommend diffusing wild orange, clove, cinnamon and ginger for a little fall pick-me-up. 2 drops of each is a perfect combo.
Now, Thanksgiving dinner is no joke and we’ve all been there when you’ve maybe taken one too many helpings of mashed potatoes and gravy. Don’t beat yourself up, it happens! Lucky for us, we have ZenGest and ginger to the rescue. Either of these oils can be used topically (rub them directly onto your stomach) or orally in water, tea or another beverage. Seriously: instant relief.
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
